Today, one of the most widely recognized and influential brands in the world . . .  GUESS? is known for its quality, trendsetting style, and marketing creativity The company, GUESS?, Inc. designs and markets a leading lifestyle collection of casual apparel and accessories for women, men, children, and babies.

It all started with the Marciano brothers who were raised in the south of France, a place that generates a passionate understanding of French design and style. The brothers blended their fascination with the American West with a European sensibility and created GUESS?, Inc.

In the 1970s, people felt denim was dated and jeans were hardly considered a fashion statement but the Marciano brothers would change that view forever. Their designs were timeless, sensuous, strong and chic. At first retailers were less than enthusiastic about denim fashion but The GUESS? approach was fresh and exciting. Eventually it would became the standard for the future of denim. In 1981, GUESS? sold its very first pair of jeans to Bloomingdale's department store. The 3-zip Marilyn jean was sexy. It had a unique style and daring attitude. Bloomingdale's finally agreed to take two dozen pairs. In just a few hours the entire stock was sold out!

The small, family-owned business has long since evolved into a major publicly traded, international organization. It is still headed by two of the Marciano brothers, Maurice and Paul who share the two top positions as Co-Chairmen and Co-Chief Executive Officers. Since 1982Maurice Marciano has guided the company's design direction and overseen its expansion. Paul Marciano is credited with the vision behind the GUESS? image and for creating some of the most innovative images in the history of advertising.

As we approach the second decade of the 21st century, GUESS? continues to push the envelope and remains a leader in the high-stakes world of fashion.
